The Good

This mega popular Nintendo game series has been around for years now. Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the latest in the series and the most popular. It was released just before the global lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic began. It’s become one of the most played and streamed video games during this time. It’s easy to pick and play nature has made it a great distraction and pass time during these rough times.

Your custom character is used to locate and build up a remote island for other characters to inhabit and become the most popular destination in the sea. You can terraform your island, hunt for food, build a museum and so much more. There is always something to do.

The Bad

To buy things like tools and building materials in this game you must perform actions around the island in which you are compensated for by Tom Nook, the resident racoon/mayor. Well…. This is where the grinding begins and continues and continues and continues. This is a perfect quick play game, but the grinding and repeated actions can get exhausting and boring after a while.
